Lily Bee Tree Topper

Hi friends! I know, I know,  long time no blog.  Sorry about that.  But the good news is that I'm here today to share with you a new project I've made for the Lily Bee blog!

For the month of December the Lily Bee DT girls are pulling out all the stops to inspire you for this holiday season. Not only are we still creating cards and tags, but this month we're featuring altered projects full of Christmas Cheer!

To help celebrate this fun season, I've created a tree topper using one of my favorite patterns from the Christmas Cheer collection.  I found the origami pattern online, and repeated the folds 6 different times in order to complete the star.  Here's how it turned out!

It's simple and whimsical, but I really like how it adds a home-y touch to our tree!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Be sure to check out the Lily Bee blog for all sorts of wonderful ideas and inspiration this holiday season.  (Pssst! For instance, this star could also be used on a layout as a fun embellishment.  Instead of 6x6" squares you could use 2" or smaller.  Just a thought.)

Anyway, thanks for stopping by and letting me share!

Happy Tuesday!

Halloween Rewind

Hi friends! I'm here today to share with you a layout I created using today's Lily Bee sketch, which you can see HERE. This week on the Lily Bee blog we're getting you ready and in the spirit for Halloween! I used Ursula's sketch with some fun shots from our Halloween past.
"Halloween Rewind"

Here I used both the Persnickety and Autumn Spice collections to blend Halloween orange with my oh-so-pink-loving Trick-or-Treater. It was so much fun looking back at past Halloween photo shoots, the memories kinda got the best of me.  But I included journaling based on a recent conversation--how my candy loving girly has decided that Halloween is her favorite holiday--EVEN above Christmas!

Thanks for dropping by today!

Hope you all have a great Monday!

The journaling reads, "As a family we ablsolutely love this time of year. Besides cool tempetures, visits to the pumpkin patch, and falling leaves, Fall means its football season! Most Saturdays you can find us in front of the TV cheering on our beloved Ole Miss Rebels."

Products used:
Persnickety: (Finicky paper, Snooty paper, ABC stickers, index journaling cards)
Autumn Spice: (Cinnamon paper, Cream paper, mixed stickers)
Christmas Cheer: (North Pole, index journaling cards)

Thank you for hopping along and participating in our blog hop! Be sure to leave me a comment in order to be eligible for the giveaway on the Lily Bee blog, a variety pack of 12x12" papers from all three lines! You don't want to miss out on that! Cards a Bella

I had several cards up on the Bella Blvd. blog this week. Here's what I've been up to.

  "Thanks so much"
DeannaMisner_ThanksSoMuch_July card

I love the bright colors of the "Sunshine & Happiness" line. They're just so cheerful. This card also features the Ciao Chipboard, a couple of new flag embellishments, and a couple of crocheted flowers.

"UR So Very Sweet"

Again with this card, I featured the Ciao Chipboard along with the High Five alphabet. I love the cheery motif with the all the pink. So very girly! :D

"Congrats, BABY"

Okay, I have to admit, I had fun with this one when it came to the sentiment. It came from watching Friends re-runs one late night while working on my cards and hearing Joey say, "It's London, BABY!" So I thought why not use "baby" emphasized as a card sentiment as in "Congrats, BABY!" So there you have it, a TV show inspired sentiment! Heee!

I'm still here!

Hi friends! I'm still here. In case you don't follow me anywhere else, our family has moved. We learned about 2.5 weeks ago that we would be moving (immediately) back "home" to Alabama! That's what the whole last couple of posts were about. We were in the middle of all that schtuff. But when it came down to it, we packed up our house of 10 years and 3 kids, had a yard sale, listed AND SOLD the house and moved 250 miles to the south--ALL IN ELEVEN DAYS!

Yes, we're exhausted.  Oh, AND we found a new place to live. It kinda just fell in to our laps. :) The girls were able to start school on time, in the midst of the craziness, and are starting to feel settled down. We still have boxes almost completely to the ceiling, and we don't have the internet or our computer set up yet. (I'm typing from the lake where we have WiFi.) Anyway, that's where I am, where I've been. Sorry to leave everyone hanging like that. But like I said, we're starting to get a little settled, establish a bit of a routine, and soon it'll all start to seem "normal".

Hopefully I'll get to be back online soon. Until then, I'm popping in to say hi. Thanks for hanging in there with me. :)

Y'all stay tuned for the Creative Scrappers blog hop that's coming up Sept. 5th. :D

Happy Holiday weekend!!!

New developments

Once again the blog is getting ignored, but that's because there's been several new developments at home and in our personal life. Nothing to worry about for sure. Good things happening. Lots of prayers being answered!  When I'm at liberty to share I will, but for now there are a lot of other "things" that need my attention.

Just thought I'd let you all know. I'm still here. Just being quiet online for a bit while I manage the other areas of life. ;) This has been my thinking lately:

Smilin' On Me

Okay, so I got this song in my head and I'm not even sure if they're the right words or what. But the other day these lyrics kept repeating in my head, "Blues skies, shinin' on me. Nothin' but blue skies...dah dah da-da dah"and my inner voice would trail off because I don't even know the rest of the song. ha! It all started though when I saw this picture of McClain, his blue eyes, shining back at me. I went with it and changed the words to the supposed lyrics to make my title.

SO, I give you "Blue eyes...Smilin' on me" LOL

To make this layout I used a combination of 2 different October Afternoon collections, 5&Dime and Rocket Age, from my accumulating scrap stash. I need to use my stash more often. It's so fun to re-live the joy that "older" collections bring with them. It's a "oh yeah, I remember this one" kind of feeling and I get all giddy again using them. Maybe I'm weird. Maybe I just like the fact that I actually USED my stash. Whatever the case, this layout brings a smile to my face. Hope it does for you too.

PS--I DID throw in a little bit of "new". That postal stripe washi tape is new to me and made by Freckled Fawn.

Off to the pool now. Going to eeek out the fun in what's left of summer!

Elle's meets Everyday Eclectic

Oh me, oh my! Time has gotten away from me. As I've tried to cram fun stuff into the end of summer, I've left my little ole blog without any love.  Sorry about that.

Anyway, I've been playing while watching the Olympics. One of my favorite things to do is to scrap while watching sports. So far I've created 2 layouts, one of which I'll share today. I used this week's sketch from the Elle's Studio blog for inspiration.

"Soak it Up"

I chose to play with Echo Park's new Everyday Eclectic collection, and add it a few Elle's Studio tags here and there too. I've had the pictures since last summer, so it was nice to find a colorful collection that matched them.  We've yet to hit the Coolidge Park fountains this year. It's on the "to do" list. I hope we're able to get to it.

Well thanks for letting me share. It's been nice to sit and scrap again.  Oh, and in case you haven't seen, I have a layout featured today over at the Jillibean Soup blog. I've been Soup Spotted! :D

Happy Wednesday, friends!

Daddy, Wonder Woman, and a thank you!

I'm wrapping up my July Nook kit. It's been a fun one! I only have one full sheet of paper left, and minimal embellishments. Here are the final 2 layouts and then a card I created just for good measure. ;)
"Justice League Girl"
These are pictures of Caroline from Halloween. I thought the gold chevron paper was the perfect choice to go with the WW logo of Wonder Woman. I salvaged the Justice League chipboard  from the costume's packaging and decided just to use it as a part of the title since it stood out so predominantly.

"Proud"
This one is of Josh and the kids on Father's Day. I loved that this kit could be used for both feminine pictures as well as ones that were more masculine. I tried to keep the page fairly simple, focusing on shapes and borders.
And then lastly, I created this card to go along with one of the sketch challenges in the cards forum. I layered the Jillibean Soup labels to create my sentiment and tied some twine through the chipboard button to finish it off.

Thanks for letting me share! Hope you are having a wonderful week!

Lake recap Pt. 2

I guess I should finish up my lake recap, especially since the month's almost over. Time is just flying by! I just realized that the kids start school in 3 weeks. THREE weeks! I've gotta start cramming in all the stuff we want to do before summer's over.

You may remember that we spend 8 or 9 days at the lake at the beginning of the month.  Here's the rest of my photos from our time there.  We spent A LOT of time with family, celebrated birthdays 3 different times, and enjoyed each other too.

Shots from the island:

Birthday pictures.  The twins and McClain are one year and one week a part.
So we start the week with their birthday and end the week with Mac's.
The boys just turned 3 and McClain turned 2.

They may or may not be trouble in the years to come.
But I love that a friendship is already forming.
I love that McClain's going to have cousins who are good buddies.
I see all sorts of lake adventures in store for these 3 as they get older.

And well, that's not the last of my pictures, but I've probably shared enough. We also did sparklers on the 4th, watched fireworks, and relaxed a little too.  I LOVE the lake! It's my most favorite place to be in the summer. Friends, family, food, and fun--yep that about sums it up!

Thanks for scrolling through and letting me share!

Meet Mr. Cool

The new Creative Scrappers sketch is up today, #218.  I love that this one includes a feature photo and then new smaller wallet-sized ones. Right away, I knew what picture(s) I wanted to use even though in the end, I chose to repeat the same one instead of using 3 different ones. So let me introduce you. Meet...

"Mr. Cool"

Do these kind of pictures ever get old? They never cease to make me chuckle. Here I used a combination of Jillibean Soup's "Apple Cheddar" and "Game Day Chili" to create a layout of McClain being super silly.  I really love that the two collections work so well together. And I love love love the saying on the sticker. Of course I used it to mean childsplay instead of sports plays.  But still. I love it and had to use it. ;) That silly boy INSISTS that he wear his sunglasses, aka "gasses" upside down. And he thinks he's such a Mr. Cool when he gets away with it!

Be sure to check out all the other designers' takes on sketch #218 over at the Creative Scrappers site.

Happy, happy, happy Sunday friends.  (Duck Dynasty, anyone? LOVE that show!)

(He's a) Modern Day Linus

I thought I'd play along with this week's Creative Scrappers sketch just for fun. I had pictures that I'd been holding on to since our Disney trip, and this sketch was perfect for them.
"Modern Day Linus"

The journaling will explain the title better. It reads, "You and you 'Ni-ni'. You go everywhere together. Just like Linus the Peanuts character. Proof? You even drug ni-ni all over Disney World!" That poor blanket. It's been EVERYwhere, and is now varying shades of gray instead of white. But I love that I have these pictures of him with it on an early (and chilly) morning at Disney.

I used the June kit from My Scrapbook Nook and these Simple Stories papers were the perfect "boy" colors and patterns that I was looking for. Of course I had to throw in there some washi tape from Bella Blvd. too. I'm kind of addicted to that stuff right now.

ENDLESS INSPIRATION WEEK

Speaking of Bella Blvd....Don't forget that they're having their Inspiration Week this week, which showcases pictures from CHA as well as projects and layouts that feature the latest lines they're debuting. Go check it out!

Well, that's about it from me. We're going through the lazy days of summer around here. I'm devouring books (found a new author and series I like) while the kids swim or play outside. We're TRYING to keep the house straightened, but that's a battle I'm most definitely losing. Other than that, I'm just trying to keep the kids active (read entertained). Some days I feel more like a cruise director since I'm fielding questions like, "What are we doing next?" and "Where are we going today?".  BUT soon it'll be back-to-school and I'll miss them.  I must remember this. I WILL remember this.

Happy Wednesday y'all!
