Last night I had a chance to put together a little card. I've had the idea for this one in my head for a while now, and I finally got to make it.
In case you haven't followed my blog for long, or don't know this about me, I'm a HUGE football fan! Especially college football. And this week was the SEC Media Days, which always starts us good Southerners talking about the upcoming season (if we hadn't started talking about already). So I thought I'd start the season my way, a scrap happy way, with a card. Game On! :D
I used American Crafts "Junior" line along with some Thickers, printed the football clip art from the internet, and popped the "on!" up on a popsicle stick.

One week
It's been one week since I've blogged, one week ago McClain was born, and for one week I've been a mom of 3. What a week it's been! We're all adjusting, and trying to get settled in. I'm quickly learning to take naps when I can (when the girls let me), and remembering just how HUGE a help my mom is! I hope to be a mom like her one day...
Anyway, here's kind of a week in review (so my mommy brain doesn't forget):
He's nursing exclusively, which the girls didn't do.
And thankfully, he's a great baby!
Sarah Kate is head-over-heels in LOVE with her brother.

And Josh turned 33. This is right before bedtime, Daddy with all the kiddos.

Nursery decor
Sorry for the long time no post. It's been a little crazy around here to say the least, but for good reason. Everyone's prepping and gearing up for our newest edition to arrive TOMORROW. OMWord! Is this for real?! Yep, tomorrow he'll be here, bright and early tomorrow morning!
And I just wanted to share one last little thing I did for his room. It's a pennant banner I made with the Girls' Paperie "On Holiday" line. When I saw this paperline online I just knew I had to have it for his room. It goes so well with the rest of the plaid, I mean, red and navy! ;) :D :D :D
I kept it really simple. I'm still learning how to do "boy" in scrap, so I figured simple is better. And yes, the lighting is terrible. But I was anxious to post it, afraid I wouldn't have time otherwise.
In other news, my 4 yr. old has become quite observant. Monday in the car she said the following:
C: "Mommy, we're going to have to get a new car soon."
me: "Oh really? Why's that?"
C: "because your belly's getting so big it's almost touching the wheel! We'll have to get a new car to make room for you."
Niiice. Thanks Caroline. Gotta love the honesty!
Well, that's about it. Tomorrow baby McClain will make his entrance into the world and I still feel like I have tons left to do. Like say, pack a bag or his bag. I've got to get on it! But please DO say a little prayer for us. We're praying that his lungs are mature and there won't be any need for the NICU this time around. ;) Also that I only get one stick as far as the spinal block is concerned. It took them 4 tries when I had Caroline, so now I'm a wee bit jumpy about that part of the whole ordeal. But other than that, this seems like old hat to us. Just ready to meet our little guy!
Oh, and I'll try and post pics as soon as I can. Not sure if the hospital has Wi-Fi or not. But I'll find a way to post some. I hope.

Slowly but surely
It's coming along. McClain's nursery that is. I feel much better about it now than I did earlier in the week. We still need some "stuff" on the walls, and I've got to tie his banner together and hang it. But at least we're making some progress.
I'm still in my plaid fascination stage, and I hope to make a few more things for his room. We'll see. And since we're going with the red/navy/green theme, Josh has pulled out all of his sports memorabilia. It's kinda fun to see him get excited.
Less than a week now! Soon and very soon!

Our 4th!
**warning photo heavy post**
Just now getting back in to the swing of things. We spent the 4th at the lake, as usual. And it was SO much fun! We spent most of our time swimming, tubing, soaking up the sun, and eating lots of good food with family and friends. In fact, the girls are still there so that I/we can get ready for this baby, and we when told them we (Josh and I) were leaving to go home Sarah Kate shouted, "YaaaaaaaaaY!!!" Nothin' says love like a good "woohoo my parents are leaving!" :D At least I know she's happy, right? Anyway, here are a few of my favorite shots from the weekend.
First up was tubing.
I, of course, couldn't participate, but had fun watching!

A little boost
Let me just say it's been a long day, a very hard one, in which we had to say good-bye to our best (or bestest as the girls say) friends for the past 7 yrs. I've cried more than once today, which is a big deal for me, and not being able to sleep, I came out to check my email.
Well, I guess God knew I'd need a little boost in spirit, because in my inbox was the latest edition of The Color Room's newsletter. And guess who has one of the featured layouts this week? Me! What a wonderful silver lining to my day! On top of that a designer that I LOVE is the one who nominated me--Steph Devlin!
I'm not posting this really to brag, or "toot" (my own horn) as we call it in the scrap world, but it's very flattering to be recognized. And today I really needed it. So, thank you Steph! It means a great deal to me to have been recognized and featured by you! Thank you for your kind words!

Playing with dimension
Yes, another YELLOW layout from me, but this time I decided to play with some dimension. Paper folding, pop dotting, crinkling Maya Road trim...just adding some fun elements to the page. I love how bright and happy this Cosmo Cricket paper is too! It makes for such fun summer pages!
In other news, we set a date yesterday for Baby McClain. July 15th is D day (delivery day). And after the meltdown I had last night (stress, emotional fatigue, etc.) I'm feeling a little better but still really overwhelmed. It seems everything is hitting all at once. But I am excited that we'll get to meet our little guy in exactly 2 weeks. Now I just have to go wash his clothes so he'll have something to wear!
