Kayaking, Canoeing, and Tubing...oh my!

(Also known as Lake Recap part 1) We spent last week at the lake, our favorite summertime destination. Not only are the water sports super fun, but we also get to see all of my family while we're there. Oh and we celebrate a lot of birthdays too. More on that later. But here are some pics I caught of the kids enjoying the water. The new toy this year was the kayak.

Tubing was especially fun for the little boys (my nephews). I don't have a picture of Gabe trying it out, but it was both of their first times on the tube. Both the girls were ready for something a little more exciting though. In an attempt to entertain herself my daredevil decided she'd ride standing up with no hands. Sigh...at least she's predictable.

Chattanooga Market: CS #116

Hi everyone! I'm back. So sorry for the delay and the lack of blogging this past week. I had NO IDEA that when we left for vacation last Sunday, I'd have absolutely no access to the internet.  I'm not complaining, it certainly was nice to "unplug", but it would've been nice if I'd known ahead of time too. Anyway, I'm back and will be making up for all the lost blogging time this week.

Today I get to share with you my very first layout with Creative Scrappers! I'm so excited that Kristine asked me to be a part of the team, and now it's time for the new team's debut!

"Chattanooga Market"

 

I really liked this sketch! The series of small pictures backed by a banner was a great way to highlight a couple of pictures I'd taken while at the market last month. And I thought that using Simple Stories' "Summer Fresh" line was the perfect compliment to both the pictures and the design.

Fun with Unity Stamps!

Hi there friends! It's been a while, but I'm still hangin' around. The last week or two have really kicked my butt, but lucky for me the last few days have been better.

I've got a couple of fun shares today. The Bella Blvd. card designers were asked to get creative with the Unity Stamps that match their latest lines. SO, I pulled out the ol' stamping pad and got to work. Here's what I came up with.

"A Little Birdie Told Me"

I had fun making this one--lots of hand-cutting. I also didn't have any white ink so I used my white Mister Huey to stamp the flowers. Didn't turn out too bad if I do say so myself.

"How's it Hangin'?"

And I made this one with someone specific in mind, a sweet little friend who happens to be away at kamp right now and LOVES monkeys. I couldn't NOT make a monkey card for her.  To do it I added leaves both under and on top of the tree. I cut them freehand and then inked the edges so they'd stand out a little more. I can't wait to for her to get it!
