What it's all about

Don't fall out of your chair, but I made a 2-pager. Shocker, I know. It was partly because I was forced to (thanks Lori), but I really love the end result. And surprisingly it was easy. And fast. I may have to do more. Or maybe not. ;)

"First Glimpse"

Thanks to Virginia (and Britt) I'm now highly addicted to masking tape ruffled flowers. I've been putting them on everything. AND, now I finally know what to do with my Pink Paislee Artisan tapes. ;) Gotta love that.


Again, this was a part of the Nook's School of U challenge. This one was a math challenge in which Lori gave us a sketch and a formula we had to follow:

Where:
PH = Photos
PP = Pattern Paper
CS = Cardstock
E = Embellishments
T = Title
J = Journaling
TCH = Technique

I used My Little Shoebox paper for the background, and all the embellishments and Jenni Bowlin Co'ordinations cardstock were from Noel Mignon's Lemonade Stand kit. I just love doing challenges. They take me out of my comfort zone, and I usually end up loving what I've made because it's different.

And I guess it goes without saying that these photos are of when the girls first met McClain. They were so excited because they'd had to wait 2 days because he'd been in the NICU. The expressions on their faces is just priceless. I did the main journaling in the half circle up top. But then next to each girl's photos, I wrote about their individual reaction, how Caroline was so curious and asked a lot of questions. Typical. And how SK was so tender and gentle, and snuggled right up to him. Love those moments, and I love that I've captured them on page. Exactly what scrapping is all about.

Love lives here

I mentioned last week that I'm participating in the Scrapbook Nook's School of U month long contest. And this is a little sign that I made for the Economics class. The assignment was to use scraps to create 3 tags or ATCs that are no bigger than 3.5" by 2.5" I decided to go with tags, since I'm not an ATC girl. Here's my finished product.

Products used: Kraft--MME, pp--Basic Grey, die-cuts--Girls Paperie, punch--Martha Stewart, button--Nikki Sivils, ink--Fabric Scraps ink dauber, mini alphas--My Little Shoebox, ribbon--Websters (I think.)

I also tried my hand at making my own patterned paper ruffle. It outlines the heart die-cut, and I'm pretty happy with it. I was just running my mouth, talking to my step-mom, and playing with the strip of paper in my hands, and voila! I looked down and I'd made a ruffle! Actually I've been making a lot of them lately as you'll see in my upcoming posts. They're quite addicting.

Oh, and btw, this little guy is 2 months old already! Talk about time flying by...

After 2.5 years

of blogging, I finally have a banner! Yay for me! hehehe! It's about time!

Silly girls!

It did our hearts good to catch up and spend a few hours with our dear friends today. We've missed them so much in the short time they've been gone! The house was LOUD. There were lots of squeals, giggles, running in and out from outside. It was sooo good to spend catch up with them even though it was bittersweet. As we said goodbye, we gave out hugs and said "See ya at Christmas (hopefully)." And until then, my girls will play pretend with them as if they were in the room instead of 10+ hrs. away.

(PS-They insisted that Ariel be in the picture. Silly girls.)

Happiness is...

Just a quick post today, but this is my favorite LO at the moment. I think I'm going to frame it and put it in our entryway, I love it that much. The entire 12x12 artisan-shaped sheet is popped up on 3D foam.
