Celebrate. Create.

Wow! Thank y'all for the many comments and kind words about the Cricut Circle DT! I'm soooo excited to be on the team, and to tell you the truth and little intimidated by all the talent on the DT. I'm just so blessed to be a part of such a great group of gals and an amazing community!

Today, I thought I'd share my Launch Day project with you. This is actually an 11x14 canvas that I covered with bookpaper--my new love. I plan on hanging it in my scrap room--thus the title Celebrate Create.

I came up with the title and the journaling because one day in Sunday School, of all places, we were asked to describe a time when you felt the most "you". I immediately thought of the times I spend with my scrappy friends cropping, because they "get" it, they "get" me. And I feel most at ease, and the most "Me" I can be when I'm scrapping or creating. Thus the journaling. And if it sounds a little Dr. Seuss-ish, that's because 1. I spend my days with pre-schoolers and 2. I am an Elem. Ed. majoring emphasizing in Children's Lit. It just so happened that all this journaling was swirling in my head when Jana told us about the Circle Blog's Monthly Challenge. So that's the background story behind this piece.

Anyway, thanks for letting me share. And thank you again for all the sweet words! Oh and if you haven't yet, be sure to comment on this post to be entered to win a Gypsy!!!!

I loved your design, especially the layered flag/banners and colors. I also liked the story about your school memory with the paint w/hole in the lid. Back then, we didn't have to worry if our work would be 'good enough", we just loved playing with the colors. We need to remember that in our crafting as grown-ups too!
