It really was! This weekend kicked off a 10 outdoor festival in our city, and there was A LOT to see and do, so much so that we didn't get to do everything we wanted to because we were so worn out. (That's a good thing) Here's our weekend in pictures...I did the best I could despite the poor lighting at times. ;)
First was Friday night. We went to the 3 Sisters Bluegrass Festival down by the river. We took a blanket, jackets, and a picnic dinner, and just hung out enjoying the music and each other. It was soooo nice!
J with the kids...wish I'd had a tripod or handed
over my camera. :(But since it's a manual focus
I didn't feel right asking a poor stranger.

Then on Saturday we had soccer games, where my fashionista decided that it was so bright she had to wear shades--literally. This from the same girly who told me she needed "to wear a necklace to practice so I'll look boo-tiful." She cracks me up! And she's so quotable! But I'll save that for another post.
Later in the day, after watching our football team finally edge out a win, we headed back downtown to ride the hot air balloons. It was too windy to ride, but we stayed around for the Balloon Glow. I'm so glad we did! I've always wanted to ride one (it's on the bucket list), and even though I didn't get to I was so impressed with their enormity and their beauty. I want to ride one now more than ever!
And even this little guy enjoyed the outing!
Sunday we were going to do the Ronald McDonald Children's Festival since that charity is near and dear to our heart. But honestly, we were so exhausted from all the loading, unloading, walking, and just going going going, that we opted out. We needed to rest. So Sunday was a nice peaceful day at home.
In all, it was a WONderful weekend, a great way to kick off the Fall. Now I need to light some seasonal candles, decorate my house, and bake a pumpkin-something that's yummy! ;) I love Fall! It's my favorite! :D
